The Parting Glass

The Parting Glass  Trad

Of all the money that e're I had

I spent it in good company

Of all the harm that 'ere I've done

Alas it was to none but me

And all I'ev done for want of wit

To memory now I can't recall

So fill to me the parting glass

Good night and joy be with you all

So fill to me the parting glass

And drink a health whate're befalls

And gently rise and softly call

Goodnight and joy be with you all.

Of all the comrades that e're I had

They're sorry for my going away

and all the weethearts that e're I had

They'd wish me one more day to stay

But since it fell unto my lot

That I  should rise and you should not

I gently rise and softly call

Goodnight and jpy be with you all<

A man may drink and not be drunk

A man may fight and not be slain

A man maay court a pretty girl

And perhaps be welcomed home again

But since it has so ordered been

A time to rise and a time to fall

So fill to me the parting glass

Goodnight and joy be with you all.
